Dr. Barnes, you are the veterinarian everyone wishes they had. Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and care.

Dr. Barnes has been caring for our dogs since we first got them over ten years ago. She has been there through every issue along the way. She knows them by name, understands their history, and always takes the time to provide thoughtful, knowledgeable care. We trust her completely and feel incredibly lucky to have her as our veterinarian.

Dr. Barnes has been our family veterinarian since 2016. We have two mini schnauzers and she has taken great care of them for almost a decade. From routine care to a few more serious situations, she has been exemplary and we would highly recommend her to anyone. She genuinely cares about your animals and is super approachable and listens to your concerns, and doesn’t treat you like you don’t have valid concerns. An excellent Dr., and a great person. 10/10, cannot speak highly enough about Dr. Barnes.

I've been using Dr. Barnes for over 10 years for my fur babies, she is so caring, loyal, respectful and truly cares about any animal. I would highly recommend anyone use her services at Progressive Pet Hospital.

Animals have always held a special place in Ashley’s heart. A Shreveport native, she grew up on the outskirts of town, spending most of her time outside with her animals. She went to college in Batesville, AR where she obtained her Bachelors of Science in Biology, and also began her journey into animal work and medicine. Soon after graduation, she returned to Shreveport to be closer to her family. Since then, she has worked in the veterinary field for 10 years and has developed a deep love and respect for the field and all it entails. In her free time, she likes to spend time watching anime and playing video games with her two boys, three dogs, and two cats.

Have a question? You’re not alone. We’ve gathered answers to some of the most common questions pet owners ask, all in one place, to help make caring for your pet a little easier.

Yes, Progressive Pet Hospital is currently welcoming new clients. We look forward to building a long-term relationship with you and your pet and supporting their care through every stage of life.

If your pet isn’t feeling well, the best next step is to schedule a sick pet exam so we can properly evaluate what’s going on. Vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, or changes in behavior can have many causes, and an exam helps us determine the safest and most effective plan.

You can request an appointment through our app, submit a request online through Vello, or call our clinic during business hours. Our team will help you find a time that works best for you and your pet.

We provide urgent and emergency care during our regular business hours. If your pet experiences an emergency outside of our normal hours, we recommend contacting a local emergency veterinary hospital for immediate assistance.
